Hydroelectric Plants in the Zillertal

Schlegeis Reservoir
Schlegeis Reservoir

The hydroelectric  group consists of two upper tiers, the Rosshag and Häusling pumping stations with the Schlegeis and Zillergründl reservoirs, and the main Mayrhofen tier including the Stillup reservoir. Aside from serving as the reservoir for the Mayrhofen power plant, it also draws water from the upper pumping stations.

Together with the Bösdornau and Tuxbach plants, the Zemm-Ziller group of power plants produces 965 MW along with 600 MW from the pumps at the Rosshag and Häusling pumping stations. With a capacity of more than 1,500 MW, it produces more power than any other hydroelectric group in all of Austria.
